Chatiw App is a free online chat room for adults. One live public room, not dozens of empty ones. Text, pictures, voice notes, and private messages.
One room, on purpose
Many chat sites list dozens of rooms, and most of them are empty. You click through five rooms to find two people. Chatiw App has one public room. Everyone who is online is in the same place, so when people are around, you find them right away.
What the room looks like
There is a list of messages, a list of people who are online, and a box to write in. Each message shows the sender's display name and gender tag. A badge shows people who took the voice check.
You can reply to a specific message, react with an emoji, and mention someone by name so they get a notice. Important messages can be pinned at the top of the room. Polls let the room vote on a question.
What you can post
Text, with basic formatting like bold and italics. Emoji from the picker. Pictures and GIFs, by pasting or attaching them. Voice notes and short camera clips, recorded right from the message box.
You can also go live. Live sends your voice, or your camera, to everyone in the room. Only one person can be live at a time, and anyone watching can stop watching.
Short history
The room keeps the most recent 500 messages. Older ones are deleted, together with their pictures. You can search the messages that are still there, but this is not a forum and it does not keep years of posts.
If a conversation needs more room, take it to a private message or a group chat.
When the room is busy or quiet
Like any live chat, some hours are busy and some are slow. When it is busy, side conversations work better in private. When it is quiet, the people who are there are usually happy to talk.
Room rules
Adults 18 and older only. Nothing illegal. Use the gender tag that is true for you, and trans people use a trans tag. Do not spam.
The site catches repeated spam on its own and mutes the sender for a while. A word filter hides the worst language. People who keep breaking the rules are banned. You can always block someone yourself or report a message.

One public room. Private messages and group chats give you smaller spaces when you want them.
Is the chat room free?
Yes. Joining and chatting are free, and there is no sign-up.
Can I search old messages?
You can search the most recent 500 messages in the room. Older messages are deleted on purpose.
Can I share pictures in the room?
Yes. Paste or attach pictures and GIFs, or record a voice note or a short camera clip.
